ElectraNet is pleased to announce the appointment of Simon Emms as the new Chief Executive, effective 1 July 2022. Simon has held senior leadership positions at ElectraNet for 17 years, most recently as the Group Executive, Network Services.

In his role of Group Executive, Network Services, Simon has managed a capex budget of more than $300 million per year and an annual opex budget of around $50 million.

He has been responsible for the successful delivery of the major transmission lines to Oz Minerals’ Prominent Hill and Carrapateena mines, the synchronous condensers and the positive progress on the Eyre Peninsula project (EP Link) and Project EnergyConnect (PEC).

Simon holds an Honours degree in Engineering from the University of Adelaide, and an MBA from the University of British Columbia, Canada.

Simon’s appointment follows a comprehensive national executive search process conducted over recent months, which attracted a strong field of quality candidates. Congratulations Simon.

The ElectraNet Board also wishes to acknowledge Rainer Korte’s steady hand in managing the business as Interim Chief Executive for the past six months. In line with the plan at the commencement of his secondment, Rainer will return to his substantive position of Group Executive, Asset Management.
