Transmission lines in the Lower Eyre Peninsula

9.45PM

All faults have been resolved on the Eyre Peninsula’s high-voltage transmission network, following a delay in restoration work earlier, due to site access issues. Transmission supply was lost yesterday afternoon, caused by lightning associated with storm activity.

ElectraNet’s transmission network supplies bulk high-voltage power to SA Power Networks’ distribution network. As transmission supply is restored, SA Power Networks can progressively restore power to homes and businesses.

“I would like to acknowledge the tireless effort of our ground crew, who worked hard to restore transmission supply as safely and quickly as possible,” said ElectraNet’s Acting Executive Manager Network Services, Ralf Ricciardi.

“Our crews are worked in storm-damaged terrain to make sure restoration is achieved, as soon as safely practicable.

“Being without power for any period of time is disruptive to day-to-day life, and I would like to thank everyone in the community for their patience and understanding while we got the job done,” Mr Ricciardi said.

Further information about distribution outages is available from SA Power Networks through the ‘Current Interruptions’ section of their website, www.sapowernetworks.com.au, or by calling 13 13 66.
