ElectraNet congratulates Neoen for achieving a significant milestone on their Goyder South Project, signing a 30-year Transmission Connection Agreement (TCA) with us. This exciting project will initially connect 209MW of wind generation to South Australia while paving the way for future wind, solar and battery storage opportunities at the Goyder South site.

Executive Corporate Development, Ashley Manna said, “I have great pleasure in sharing the news that on Thursday 20 October, ElectraNet executed the 30-year TCA with Neoen for the first half of Stage 1 of Goyder South to connect to our existing Robertstown substation.”

“This is the first half of Stage 1 of the development for Neoen, connecting initially 209 MW of wind generation. A TCA for the second half is expected to be executed in the coming months for additional wind generation. Over time, Neoen have big plans for this site, including the potential to install a grid-scale battery as well as additional wind and solar generation. Construction of our connection assets is already well underway, with energisation expected in early-mid 2023,” Ashley said.

Neoen Australia’s Managing Director, Louis de Sambucy commented, “We are delighted to have signed the TCA for the first stage of Goyder South, and we thank the Electranet team for all their hard work and commitment. We look forward to continuing to work closely with ElectraNet to unlock future stages of Goyder and to deliver highly competitive clean energy into the South Australian grid as the transition gathers pace.”

Speaking further about Neoen’s new connection project, Ashley said, “Neoen are world leaders in the clean energy landscape. This project continues to build on the long-standing relationship that ElectraNet has established with Neoen through the connection of all 3 stages of the Hornsdale Windfarm and also Hornsdale Power Reserve, the world’s first “big battery” that paved the way for many more across the country and around the globe.”

“Supporting the progress of new customer projects, as well as the substantial effort being undertaken for existing customers, has seen our overall efforts reach new highs for South Australia’s clean energy transformation,” Ashley said.
