The Eyre Peninsula region of South Australia is set to have the long-awaited 280MW Cultana Solar Farm connected into the grid by ElectraNet.

Manager Connections, Niketan Tyagi, said, “The connection works for the project are now in the design phase, with construction activities to begin in early 2023 for SIMEC Energy Australia’s Cultana Solar Farm.”

“The project will be connecting to ElectraNet’s existing 275kV Cultana substation and will ultimately see the solar farm help to drive the transition to 100 per cent renewables in South Australia and once completed, will be one of the largest in the country”, Niketan said.

It’s an exciting time as South Australia moves closer to 100 per cent net renewables and we look forward to continuing our support of innovative, large-scale customer projects like the Cultana Solar Farm.
