ElectraNet officially unveiled its new vision last night at our Annual Customer and Stakeholder Celebration, where we also shared our successes together in 2023.

Chief Executive Officer, Simon Emms, said, “The transition to renewables cannot happen without ongoing collaboration and planning with our valued customers and engagement with our industry stakeholders.”

“To reflect our commitment to supporting them, we have officially launched our new vision.”

Energising South Australia’s Clean Energy Future.

“This vision reaffirms our purpose as a leader in the clean energy transition, delivering reliable and sustainable electricity transmission services and valued customer connections,” Simon said.

South Australia is experiencing a rapid and material uplift in its electricity demand outlook driven by electrification, new and expanded mining operations, industrial loads, new facilities, hydrogen developments and other energy-intensive operations such as data centres.

Simon said, “South Australia’s economic growth and prosperity relies on our transmission network delivering reliable and sustainable transmission services to meet the increasing demand for electricity.”

“With our state’s high penetration of renewable energy, large land mass and abundance of wind and solar resources, South Australia remains a leader in the global energy transition and transmission plays a central role. This presents an extraordinary opportunity for our customers to continue engaging with us and shape the state’s energy future.”

“This year has already seen some big achievements in our sector as a result of the recently energised Eyre Peninsula Link, Project EnergyConnect nearing completion, which is already yielding new connection enquiries, and numerous battery Transmission Connection Agreements in place. These achievements sit alongside the connection and energisation of AGL’s 250MW Torrens Island Battery and construction completion for the connection of Neoen’s Stage 1A Goyder Wind Farm.”

“There are many more opportunities in the pipeline. We look forward to continuing to work with our customers and stakeholders in delivering on our vision together,” Simon said.
