Our customer, AGL, is one step closer to energising their 250MW grid-scale Torrens Island Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) after receiving approval from the Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO).

ElectraNet played a key role in connecting this $180 million project through a 275kV cable and main transformer to the grid.

Manager Connections, Niketan Tyagi, said, “It’s with pleasure that I announce our connection assets for this BESS project are ready on time and on budget for AGL.”

“We are currently awaiting the final approval stages and Transmission Connection Agreement (TCA) to be put in place so that the battery can be energised.”
