Kadina East Transformer Capacity Increase
Project Overview
The upgrade of Kadina East substation will meet the increasing electricity demands of the area by replacing the sole transformer onsite with two increased capacity 132/33kV transformers, associated switchgear, secondary systems and telecommunications.
It is proposed to overcome a projected connection point limitation at the Kadina East substation by expanding the existing substation and installing two 60MV.A 132/33kV transformers, establishing a 132kV bus and installing secondary systems and telecommunications with the provision for remote control data collection and national grid metering.
Construction works for the new 132/33kV Kadina East substation at the corner of Mundinna and Helston Roads commenced in July 2010 and will continue through until June 2011 when the upgrade works become operational.
