Project Overview
This project will construct an optical fibre ground wire (OPGW) telecommunications bearer on the Davenport-Mokota 275 kV transmission line to complete the optical fibre telecommunications backbone from Olympic Dam in the Upper North to Mount Gambier in the South East, to service the ElectraNet 275 kV main grid data requirements.
This project is required to deliver the necessary bandwidth to carry the regulatory, operational and security data for management of ElectraNet substations in the Mid North region.
The project is split into two sections of the Davenport-Mokota 275 kV transmission line, including Belalie and Canowie substations. Stage 1 optical fibre installation and testing was completed in December 2015. Stage 2 construction is planned for 2017 and 2018.
Planned Energisation: December 2018
