Transmission lines in the Lower Eyre Peninsula

5.15pm

ElectraNet has completed the replacement of the second affected connection point at the switchyard adjacent to Torrens Island Power Station B.

ElectraNet assets at this connection point are now available, allowing AGL to provide generation capacity of 200MW into the network.

“We would like to thank everyone for their patience while restoration and replacement activities were taking place,” Steve Masters, ElectraNet’s Chief Executive, said.

“Our restoration crew on the ground ensured that the works took place as quickly and safely as possible.

“As the second connection point sustained more damage from the incident, it needed to be replaced rather than repaired,” Steve said.

An incident on the afternoon of Friday, 3 March 2017 resulted in damage to two connection points at the switchyard adjacent to Torrens Island Power Station B.
