ElectraNet crews are still working hard this morning to restore power to Port Lincoln and have begun inspecting transmission lines to the far north of the state.

Crews with cranes and other equipment have been dispatched to a fault detected west of Tumby Bay, which is affecting the restoration of power to Port Lincoln.

Assessing and repairing this remains our highest priority.

Weather conditions have eased slightly however access to some areas is difficult because of storm damage and sodden ground.

The providers of backup generators at Port Lincoln have been unsuccessful in providing continuous generation support, but report they continue to work on it.

Helicopters left Adelaide at 7:30 am this morning to patrol transmission lines north of Port Augusta, supplying Leigh Creek and Roxby Downs. If found to be free of visible damage, attempts will be made to re-energise them.

ElectraNet is fully committed to ensuring power is restored to all areas of the state as quickly and safely as possible.

SA Police and State Emergency Services are working hard in the field to ensure public safety. Anyone who sees damaged powerlines or fallen infrastructure should stay well clear and report them to ElectraNet on 08 8404 7966.

Further updates will be provided as they become available.

Additional information on the wider storm recovery effort is available from the South Australian disaster recovery line on 1800 302 787.
