For generation and industrial-load customers, ElectraNet offers continuous around-the-clock, real-time remote monitoring and control services – via our System Control Centre.

ElectraNet’s System Control Centre is located in Adelaide and is equipped with leading-edge operations control equipment; state-of-the art information management technology; and dual redundant and secure telecommunication systems (ie bypass functionality) transmitted over private ElectraNet communication channels (or bearers).

ElectraNet's Back-Up Control Centre (BUCC) is located at a site remote from the main control point. The BUCC is capable of performing all of the monitoring and control functions of the electricity transmission network.

Our highly-specialised System Control Operators manage:

• The efficient, reliable and safe operation of the South Australian power system

• Safe and efficient network switching

• Remote operation of gas-turbine generating stations and other peaking plant

• Supply restoration after power system faults.
