Network Maps and Statistics

As a regulated Transmission Network Service Provider (TNSP) in the National Electricity Market (NEM), our core business is to provide transmission services via South Australia’s electricity transmission ‘super-highways’ of power.

These ‘super-highways’ of high-voltage power provide the backbone for the competitive National Electricity Market in South Australia and transport electricity from generators – to the state’s lower-voltage distribution network (owned by ETSA Utilities) and large direct-connect industrial customers.

The electricity transmission network in South Australia extends across some 200,000 square kilometres of diverse and rugged terrain and operates at voltages of 275,000, 132,000 and 66,000 Volts – and consists of the following assets:

  • 88 high-voltage substations

  • about 5,500 circuit kilometres of transmission lines

Note:

(275,000 Volts = 275kV)
