Weed Prevention and Control

Some of our weed management strategies for transmission development sites include:

  • Establishing a single site entry and exit point, with disinfecting wash-down or brush-down facilities for vehicles, equipment and shoes

  • Preventing the importation of weeds/seeds/propagules or weed infested topsoil material

  • Cleaning of all earth-moving machinery and vehicles prior to entering and prior to leaving each individual landowner’s property

  • Providing sealed bins for site waste to discourage animal pests.

Trees For Life has assisted us with the control of environmental weeds at our Cherry Gardens substation site through their Bush For Life program.
