Environmental Management Planning

Procedures and systems for the management of potential environmental impacts are well established within ElectraNet.

Our organisation’s Environmental Policy provides a framework to ensure that environmental considerations are included in the planning, design and construction, and ongoing operational management of all of our business activities.

The key elements of our Environmental Policy include:

  • Assessing potential environmental impacts and developing construction management plans and audits that address all environmental matters associated with transmission developments and ongoing transmission network operations

  • Complying with state and national environmental requirements

  • Displaying social responsibility in the operation of the network and network development projects

  • Ensuring that systems and processes in place are tested to prevent environmental breaches

  • Ensuring ongoing awareness and training of staff in the management of environmental issues facing the electricity industry

  • Participating in initiatives that contribute to addressing and understanding the impacts of climate change.
