RECOGNITION: PRESTIGIOUS AWARD for SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT

In October 2007 the Urban Development Institute of Australia SA Division presented ElectraNet with the prestigious Presidents Award for Excellence in recognition of the Tungkillo 275 kV switchyard Project. The award acknowledges the company’s balanced approach as a provider of essential public infrastructure and a sustainable developer with a genuine regard for environmental conservation and community involvement.

RECOGNITION: CONSERVING ENDANGERED SPECIES

An exceptional engineering solution to minimise impact upon the habitat of the endangered Southern Brown-nosed Bandicoot was recognised in April 2007 with a Commendation in the Adelaide and Mt. Lofty Ranges NRM Rural Landowners Award for Conservation of an endangered species or ecosystem.

ElectraNet designed and built a three circuit MA Transmission Tower on a constrained cleared footprint surrounded by intact, high quality bushland which provides habitat for conservation listed plants and animals. In recognition that ElectraNet’s design team had accepted risks and driven an ‘outside of the square’ solution process, the commendation celebrated the melding of engineering excellence and environmental management from design to commissioning and beyond.

RECOGNITION: SUPPORTING ARTS AND SCIENCES IN SA COMMUNITIES

ElectraNet’s longstanding support for the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra and SA Arts has been recognised by nominations for Australian Business Art Foundation SA Award and Australia Council Arts for Young People Award. Our support to community, environmental and science education sponsorships demonstrates ElectraNet’s commitment to supporting regional South Australia and encouraging young people to take an active interest in science subjects.
