Electricity

ElectraNet transports high voltage power across long distances and to remote areas via high voltage substations, steel lattice towers and tall pole structures.

Energy is vital to growth.

ElectraNet accepts power from generators, using transformers to convert low voltage electricity to high voltage for efficient transport. This high voltage electricity is then converted back to low voltage by our substation transformers for distribution through our client’s distribution networks. Our clients include companies like ETSA Utilities. Mining ventures, water pumping stations and large industry typically connect direct to the ElectraNet grid for power supply.

South Australian generation requirements generally peak through summer.

With demand for power growing every year due to business and industry development, ElectraNet remains committed to the South Australian transmission system.
