  • Hastings Funds Management (19.94%) – as responsible entity of the Hastings Utilities Trust
  • Macquarie Specialist Asset Management Limited (5.45%) – as trustee for the ElectraNet Trust on behalf of UniSuper.

Chief Executive Officer

Ian F Stirling

B.Bus, CPA, MAICD

Chief Executive, Ian Stirling Ian has been part of the electricity industry since 1982 with extensive experience in senior management positions in all sectors including generation, transmission and distribution.

Appointed as CEO of ElectraNet in August 2002, Ian previously held executive positions of General Manager and CFO within the company.

Prior to joining ElectraNet, Ian was CFO at GPU PowerNet Pty Ltd, Manager, Strategy Change at National Electricity, Project Director Corporatisation Taskforce and Group Business Manager Power Grid at the State Electricity Commission of Victoria.

Ian holds a Bachelor of Business with a double major in Accounting and Law and is a Certified Practicing Accountant. Ian attended the Advanced Management Program at the Graduate School of Management, University of Melbourne (Melbourne Business School). Ian is also an Associate of Templeton College, Oxford and a member of the Institute of Company Directors.

He is a Director of the Electricity Supply Association of Australia, a Director of Business SA (The Chamber of Commerce and industry in SA), and an Advisory Board member for the SA Chapter of CEDA.

Executive Manager Regulation & Corporate Services, Rainer Korte

Executive Manager Regulation & Corporate Services, Rainer Korte Rainer is responsible for ElectraNet's regulatory affairs including revenue regulation, engagement with regulatory authorities and Government policy advisers, managing the impact of National Electricity Market developments and regulated transmission pricing. He is also responsible for business improvement, risk management and insurance, internal audit, environmental management, occupational health, safety and welfare, media and communications and facilities management.

Rainer has more than twenty years experience in the electricity industry with a background in regulatory management, market development, project management, power system analysis and control systems design. Immediately prior to taking up his current role in July 2008, Rainer was responsible for ElectraNet's revenue proposal to the Australian Energy Regulator for the 5-year regulatory period commencing 1 July 2008.

Executive Manager Development and Projects, Greg Rice

Executive Manager Development and  Projects, Greg Rice Greg Rice has almost 30 years of experience across the South Australian electricity industry and more than 15 years operating at senior management level.

Greg has extensive experience in transmission design, construction maintenance and contract management.

As Executive Manager Development & Projects Greg is responsible for implementing ElectraNet’s network capital program including development planning approvals, engineering, project management, construction and commissioning.

Executive Manager Finance and Corporate Development, Geoff Teitzel

Geoff Teitzel joined ElectraNet Pty Ltd in June 2001 and currently holds the position of Executive Manager Finance and Corporate Development.

Prior to joining ElectraNet, Geoff spent 20 years in Senior Finance Management and Treasury roles in 3 top Australian companies. After 12 years at the Australian Barley Board (grain marketing Board), Geoff worked at Santos Limited – one of Australia’s largest oil and gas companies. Geoff subsequently joined Southcorp Ltd (one of Australia’s largest conglomerates) for 6 years.

Geoff’s role at ElectraNet as the “Chief Financial Officer” encompasses responsibility for financial reporting and management, treasury, procurement, human resource management, organisational development, IT, telecommunications and the continuing development of new business opportunities for the company. Geoff has a team of around 60 people.

Geoff has very broad experience and a proven track record in the executive management of corporations, providing leadership and a wealth of knowledge in general business and in the finance and business investment arenas.

Geoff holds a degree in accounting, and is a fellow of the Finance and Treasury Association. Geoff was a recipient of the National Excellence in Treasury Award from the FTA during 2000.
