Engineering Excellence

With strong future growth in power demand a certainty, the timely and cost-effective refurbishment and establishment of new electricity transmission assets in South Australia is essential – so that all electricity consumers have access to reliable electricity supplies into the future.

ElectraNet currently has a dedicated team of over 150 engineers working to reinforce and expand South Australia’s high-voltage transmission network. They are delivering a large portfolio of transmission developments currently worth in excess of $150 million a year to the community, to ensure the network’s long-term sustainability.

At ElectraNet, we consider a wide range of essential environmental and social aspects for all of our activities, including:

  • Minimising the visibility of our infrastructure and potential impacts on the landscape

  • Minimising impact on our neighbouring landowners

  • Maintaining access for farm machinery on local roads and within properties

  • Protecting Aboriginal and European heritage interests

  • Minimising impact on native flora and fauna

  • Minimising impact on watercourses

  • Continuing our rigorous inspection, maintenance, vegetation clearance and operating protocols, in successfully managing fire risk

  • Addressing all construction and ongoing operational management issues

  • Complying with all relevant Acts and Regulations.

It is our commitment to

plan well and reduce

community and

environmental impacts

where possible.
