Wen-Cheng Huang, Graduate EngineerHaving excelled in courses pertinent to ElectraNet’s core business, Wen-Cheng Huang competed against hundreds of other engineering applicants, to secure a position with ElectraNet’s exclusive Graduate Program.

Demonstrating a great dedication to his studies, initiative and a commitment to continuous improvement, Wen-Cheng is now keen to work alongside and learn from ElectraNet’s highly-skilled engineering and project management professionals.

Wen-Cheng successfully completed his Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical and Mechatronic) with First Class Honours at the University of South Australia during 2010. And as our newest award-winning Graduate Engineer, Wen-Cheng has only just commenced his first ‘hands-on’ rotation with the company.

ETSA Utilities Prize and the R W Parsons Memorial Prize, Wen-Cheng is no stranger to accolades.

Previously, Wen-Cheng has also received the Chancellor’s Letter of Commendation for each year of his engineering degree – as well as a plethora of other prizes and awards for electrical engineering and information science, including outstanding student in his second year of study.

Reflecting on the lead-up to his exciting new career as a Graduate Engineer with ElectraNet, Wen-Cheng said:

‘I was invited to attend the 2010 IET Professional Network Dinner, which is where I first met an engineering representative from ElectraNet…  and received great insight into ElectraNet’s exciting high-voltage role in the interconnected state and national electricity industry.’

‘The major 275/132kV infrastructure developments that ElectraNet designs, owns and manages – to support the safe, reliable and cost-effective transmission of power across the state, is absolutely massive – and a great challenge given the diverse range of constraints that ElectraNet must work within.’

‘My experience so far at ElectraNet is that they really value their staff.  There is a tangible culture that supports employees being developed to their fullest potential – and I’m looking forward to my future power engineering training, onground “hands-on” experience, and networking opportunities that ElectraNet’s Graduate Program offers.’

‘Everyone is very friendly at ElectraNet. It’s a really fabulous place to work.’
