Ainslie Hutchens, Cost & Schedule Controller
Ainslie Hutchens first joined ElectraNet in 1999 as a junior Drafter compiling system diagrams. Following several internal career opportunities focused on document management efficiencies, Ainslie was successful in winning one of three exclusive Project Cost and Schedule Controller roles during 2003.
With ElectraNet’s large portfolio of complex infrastructure projects continuing to grow each year, Ainslie’s team has expanded rapidly. Ainslie is now the business’ longest-serving Controller, working under the leadership of the Portfolio Controls Manager. Ainslie currently controls the costs and scheduling for around 19 diverse and exciting projects ranging from information technology and facilities, to large electricity transmission network augmentations.
Admitting to being highly organised with a structured work approach, Ainslie is committed to supporting ElectraNet Project Managers to deliver new assets in a timely, cost-effective, safe and reliable manner – to meet and exceed established standards.
'I’ve taken-up some great opportunities provided by ElectraNet over the years to grow my experience and knowledge. And in the process, I have developed an excellent understanding of business systems.'
'With our portfolio of Controllers now totalling eight (and there’s room for more!), I’m really happy where my role is heading. That is, being able to provide support and guidance to the Team around existing business systems – and also in the application of new supporting tools and processes to achieve ongoing efficiencies.'
'Socially the company is fantastic and the internal ‘Hot Topics’ forums are a personal favourite – a great initiative to avoid information silos and learn more about the valuable focus of other teams within the business.'
