At ElectraNet, we value the important role of our neighbouring landowners and occupiers as we work together to maintain and strengthen our state’s power assets.

Where practicable, existing roads and access tracks are used for accessing construction areas, but at the start of any construction works, we will discuss and agree on any special arrangements regarding land access and required work.

Simple actions such as ensuring gates remain in the position they were found in, only using certain access tracks, or not littering – are all actions that we know make a big difference to you – and we’ll make sure that they are respected.

Landowners and occupiers are provided with prior notice of any construction works, so there is plenty of time to prepare your land, including moving sensitive stock – and/or to negotiate any special access arrangements required.

For a transmission line development, the various construction steps include:

• preparation of the construction site(s)
• installation of foundations
• delivery of transmission assets
• assembling of transmission structure(s)
• stringing transmission conductor on the transmission structures
• installation of telecommunications
• energising the transmission line
• land rehabilitation
• ongoing maintenance.

And of course, site clean-up occurs after each and every stage.
